let them be wild.

Nature-immersion programs for little ones to play, explore and adventure in the beautiful Australian bush - born from a love of slow, wild childhoods.

Our Programs

From babies to big kids, Wild Wattle Nature Play has a play program for every stage.

Tiny toes in the mud, screeching games of chase and hide-and-seek, big kids hauling tractor tyres; whatever stage your wild child is at, we've got something wonderful waiting for them. From snuggly baby bushwalks to adventures for curious ‘big kids’, Wild Wattle Nature Play is where children dig, discover, and fall head-over-gumboots in love with our beloved Mt.Gib.

Our Story

Some programs are planned. Wild Wattle was born.

I grew up in Canada living out a full, free-range 90s childhood — building forts, climbing trees, and coming home covered in mud when the sun went down. It was a childhood spent mostly outside, and honestly? I've never gotten over it.

Fast forward a few decades and one very spirited little boy later, I found myself living in the Southern Highlands searching for a nature play program that felt right for my ‘wild-child’, and the childhood I wanted for him. The waitlists were long, the options were limited, and the 90’s kid/teacher-mum in me had opinions. So I did the most logical thing possible and started my own.

I hold a Master's degree in the Psychology of Education and have spent over a decade working with children as a teacher, mentor, play therapist, and education consultant… but my favourite qualification will always be my own untamed childhood spent outdoors.

Wild Wattle is my love letter to free-range kids everywhere. To muddy boots, scraped knees, and the kind of day that ends with a very tired, very happy child. I can't wait for yours to be part of it.
